How long does a mortgage switch take?
About 6 weeks for a standard switch. More complex cases, such as a separation or divorce, can take longer.
When do I pay?
Fees are payable before completion of the legal transaction.
How do I make payment?
By Same Day Money Transfer (a wire transfer) to our account. Our accounts team confirms receipt of all payments.
Will there be any extra charges?
For a straightforward switch the fixed fee won’t change. If complications arise, we explain and cost them in advance, and you approve before we proceed.
What if I don’t go ahead?
There’s no charge if you decide not to proceed with the mortgage switch.
What is a redemption figure?
A letter from your current lender showing the amount needed to fully repay your existing loan on a set date, with daily interest added until it is paid.
When will I receive my cashback?
If your new lender offers cashback, it is usually released after your first mortgage payment has been made.
Can everything be done remotely?
Yes. The whole switch can be handled by phone, email, post and video call, with 24/7 access to your case through our online client portal.

Zero delays with doing up all the necessary paperwork and getting it across to the vendor's solicitor. Patrick was always a phone call away. If he couldn't answer, he always called back shortly afterwards. I chose Jacobs Law based on positive reviews and the ease of being able to upload documents to their online platform. Also, the ability to digitally sign documents as I am currently living abroud. Not to mention you know exactly what you are paying for as everything is disclosed upfront and in detail so there was no surprises when it came to payment.
